So it has officially taken me a year to post this now! I can't believe my baby girl is a YEAR old today! It's all so crazy as I sit here and watch her play with puzzles, crawl around and play with her brother and sister. Kiley has been in physical therapy for a little over a month now and she just started really crawling about 3 weeks ago. She is so close to walking now too. I will document her party later tonight with a blog post all for her 1st birthday!
It all started on 09/22/11 when I woke up with tons of pressure. I didn't think anything of it because I had NEVER went into labor naturally/on my own. I was induced with my other two. I decided since Hayley and Connor were going stir crazy that we would go for a walk. I got both kids dressed and outside to the stroller and started strolling around town.

We have a huge paved walking path that goes
through our town that we walked to and then took the path to the next major
road which is about a mile. Then made a
pit stop at the park so the kids could play, then we decided since it was so
close to DD's friend getting out of school we would walk down to the
school. As we passed the school we saw
Hayley's friends dad going to pick her up so we decided to keep walking towards
home. Finally got home after an almost
2.5 mile walk/pit stop at the park and almost two hours later, I was defiantly
feeling it. Again, I didn't think
anything of it since the Dr. said not to go to L&D until my contractions
were 5 minutes apart. At this point they
were all over the place. Fast forward to
about midnight when the contractions really started to kick my butt, but again
they were all over the place. 15
minutes, 7 minutes, 11 minutes then 5 minutes.
Finally after being in the bathroom all night and being up and down and
many tears later at 3:30am, we decided to call our neighbor over to keep an eye
on the other two kids and told my husband "I think we need to go, this is
the worst pain I have been in." We
got to the hospital at 4:20am, I couldn't walk, talk or breath through them and
was in tears.
Got up to L&D and the
nurses put me on the monitors and got me all registered and checked in. They finally checked me and informed me that
I was 6cm dilated with a bulging bag.
After sticking me 3 times to get an IV they finally got it and the lab
person came in to take my blood to check my platelet levels. Again still in tears from the contractions
begging for an epidural. The nurses kept
saying they were working on it and it felt like hours before the
anesthesiologist showed up after my OB breaking my water. The nurse checked me right before the
anesthesiologist was getting ready to place my EPI and said that I was complete
and ready to go.
I cried and cried for
the EPI, then my OB came to check me again and said no I was only an 8. The anesthesiologist went ahead and place my
EPI and I don't think it was even 10 minutes later that Kiley Marie was born at
5:40am on 09/23/11. She weighed 7lbs
even and was 18.5 inches long.
September
23 is kind of a somber day for my Family and I because we had lost my 12yo
sister 11 years ago to the day. I didn't
even realize the date until my mom called about 7:30am and told me what the
date was. I will always hold Kiley's
birth date close to my heart as it is both a happy and sad day for me.

Mom wrote this at 7:50am on 09/23/11:
